Ken Meech has a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Western Ontario and has an extensive background in public administration having served in senior positions primarily at the municipal level.
Ken has the distinction of being the first Chief Administrative Officer for Halifax Regional Municipality thereby heading the amalgamation process to achieve the present day HRM.
Ken has also served on the Boards for both provincial and national associations and was President of the Association of Municipal Administrators of Nova Scotia (AMA-NS) and the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators (CAMA).
Ken is presently the Executive Director of the Nova Scotia School Boards Association which is a body dedicated to excellence in public education and provides a single voice on behalf of the member school boards.
Ken is also proud of a major success as co-champion of the Solid Waste Program that presently exists in HRM.
"I believe energy efficiency is important to reduce dependency on fossil fuels to reduce carbon emissions," says Meech.
